Welcome to the NDPC
The National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC) is a professional alliance sponsored through the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA National Preparedness Directorate.
The consortium is made up of seven members, including the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Alabama, the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech), Louisiana State University's Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education (National Center for Biomedical Research and Training), Texas A&M University National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (TEEX), the Department of Energy’s Nevada Test Site (NTS), the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI), and the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center at the University of Hawaii (NDPTC).
Each of these organizations has distinguished themselves nationally as experts in chemicals, explosives, radiological/nuclear devices, bioterrorism, counter-terrorism, agroterrorism, and emergency management systems. NDPC reflects the missions of all these organizations with its commitment to provide quality, cost-effective counter-terrorism training to the nation’s emergency responders.

Letter from the Chairman
Greetings!
The National Domestic Preparedness Consortium had a successful fall. The main highlight for the Consortium was the National State Administrative Agency Training Symposium. The Center for Domestic Preparedness hosted the event in Anniston, Ala., Nov. 28 to Dec. 2.
The NDPC reached out to colleagues via informational and display sessions. In addition to the core NDPC members, Consortium affiliates participated as well, including Wright State University, the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium, the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, Calif., and United States Northern Command. Joining the Symposium were members of the DHS/FEMA NTED (National Training and Education Directorate) led by Dr. Keith Holtermann, and his senior staff.
The NDPC was well represented with a complement of personnel to staff the static displays and present updates on our activities to the groups. Principals of the NDPC met with the SAA Advisory Council and were joined by DHS/FEMA NTED principals, for a productive roundtable on issues related to training, funding and collaboration.
I would like to thank Dr. Todd Jones, Mr. Rick Dickson and their staff for a wonderful experience and symposium. Echoing comments of success have resounded since we left Anniston. Well done, CDP; well done indeed.
The next quarterly meeting will be hosted by the University of Hawaii, in Charleston, S.C. Dr. Karl Kim and his staff are busily working on the agenda, and finalizing arrangements. The conference will be February 27 to March 1, 2012. I look forward to seeing you there!
Seasons greeting to one and all,

Daniel C. Walsh
NDPC Chairman
