The National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC) is a professional alliance sponsored through the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA National Preparedness Directorate. The consortium is made up of seven members, including the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Alabama, the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech), Louisiana State University's Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education (National Center for Biomedical Research and Training), Texas A&M University National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (TEEX), the Department of Energy’s Nevada Test Site (NTS), the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI), and the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center at the University of Hawaii (NDPTC). Each of these organizations has distinguished themselves nationally as experts in chemicals, explosives, radiological/nuclear devices, bioterrorism, counter-terrorism, agroterrorism, and emergency management systems. NDPC reflects the missions of all these organizations |
2011 witnessed many emergency events which
afforded the NDPC an opportunity to serve the
First Responder Community. From forest fires
to tsunamis, our nation withstood the ravages
of nature and human based events. I am proud
to acknowledge the readiness of the nation
bore the insignia of the NDPC. None was more
evident than the APEC-2011 (Asian-Pacific
Economic Cooperation) conference in Hawai'i.
In advance of this international event, the NDPC
membership assisted all levels of responders
with preparatory work. Many NDPC responses
are not reportable due to the sensitive nature of
the event. All NDPC support has been delivered
with the knowledge, cooperation, and approval
of DHS/FEMA.
